Excel looks for a job

Wanted to post for a very long time (sorry Anne) but made no time earlier on to do it.

Recently i did quite some web scraping among other interesting coding. Those little projects are always a dilemma between the ease of using the Excel built-in tools, like web queries with all its natural scrape settings. Or we need to achieve something that is little more complex. Results depend on user interaction and manipulating buttons and options is easier through the HTMLdocument object.

Use MS Word to Collect Info while Browsing the Web

Introduction
If research is part of your job than you can come across hundreds of small stories on the web each week. Most of that data comes from different sites and at times you read the same story more than once. A lot of so-called news is copied and published on several news sites with no addition of value. But to stay on top of your business, it is paramount to be sure that you miss nothing and be able to distill the small gems of information between all the "infotainment".

Creative with Excel Charts; Same data, More Info

Introduction
There are many addin's on the market to get the best out of Excel and its charting capabilities. But sometimes its fun to construct something yourself and prove a point in the process. Our little exercise is meant to visualize why some chart types look better in dealing with price series than others. For example we can use point and figure charts. One of the advantages of these types of charts is their tendency to smooth out noise in price behaviour. And this is what we are going to show in a simple exercise and create a small building block of our own visual trend analyser at the same time.
